Grand Opening

Our Grand Opening was such a special day for myself and for our team!

There are no words for how surreal it feels to see the logo you’ve doodled for years on a building. To see a dream come to life is something I’ll never take for granted. I’m so thankful to have the most amazing team where my dream has quickly become our dream and I love continuing to build it together.

Last night was really for my team. My goal above everything else was for them to have a great time and take pride in the part they played in making this happen. To celebrate and look back on all they’ve accomplished. I’m truly so proud of each of them. I’ve watched so much growth within them this past year and a half and it definitely warranted a celebration.

If you’re like me and very growth oriented, always focused on the next goal, it can sometimes be hard to stop and celebrate the wins. While that may be okay for me, what I’ve learned is that’s not fair to my team. They deserve to celebrate all the work they’ve put into getting Propel to where it is. I’m so happy we made the time to celebrate to show appreciation for my team and our clients. It was also a great reminder for me personally to stop and appreciate all that we’ve accomplished. Having a moment of being so proud of myself and our team.

Earlier this week, prior to the Grand Opening I found out we had hit a big milestone we’ve been working towards. Knowing that our Grand Opening was coming up, I wanted to wait until the Grand Opening to share this news with our team so we could celebrate everything all in one day.

I wanted to find a creative way to share the news with them on the day of the Grand Opening. So the morning of, I went to the office early, set up our board where we’ve been tracking the progress towards this milestone to announce we’ve hit and actually surpassed it.

A tradition our team has adopted when we’re working towards a goal is to buy a bottle of champagne and place a sticky note on it that says, “pop when” we hit said goal. It’s become a fun way for our team to manifest our goals, remind ourselves these goals aren’t an “if” but a “when”, and help us to stop and celebrate when we hit these milestones with a champagne celebration.

So of course, next to our board showcasing the milestone we’ve hit, I had our “pop when” bottle next to it, along with orange juice for mimosas and croissants for us to celebrate. I had all of this set up and our pump up song blasting when the team walked in to work in the morning to share the news with them. The whole morning of this day was so special, hanging out and soaking everything in just our team.

After having such a feel-good morning we were joined by the mayor and the team at CK Economic Development for our official ribbon cutting. It was such a cool moment for our team to cut the ribbon together and celebrate everything we’ve done to get us to this point, having a physical location so early into Propel’s journey.

The rest of the day resumed into regular work activities before our clients, families, and close friends joined us for our Grand Opening party!

The night was so perfect. Our champagne wall, balloon garland (by Pop Art/ Cami Moore), photobooth for professional headshots, catering by the Chilled Cork team, and Propel branded cookies and napkins made the event a huge success.

I left this night just feeling so much gratitude towards everyone who has supported us along the way. We truly have the best circle of people. I can’t wait to see where we are another year from now. This is only the beginning!

Check out our Grand Opening vlog for a behind the scenes video of the day. I find vlogs so therapeutic. I love watching them when I'm cleaning or to unwind. So get cozy, get to know our team in a longer form video, and enjoy.
