The people you admire aren’t fearless, they just feel the fear AND do it anyway.

This was the pep talk I gave myself during the Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Weekend. While you may see a lot of highlights, don’t get it twisted, my hands were shaky, palms sweaty, there were a lot of deep breaths, and yes… even a bathroom dance party to hype myself up.

If you’re feeling fear, comparing yourself to others, or thinking you’re doing it wrong… that couldn’t be further from the truth. The people you admire feel fear too, they just feel it and do it anyway.

Here’s the key: fear isn’t a sign you’re not ready. It’s proof you’re growing and stepping into NEW territory. That fear is simply a sign you’ve stepped outside your comfort zone… and THAT’S WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS.

If you weren’t scared, you’d still be in your comfort zone and nothing grows there.

Do whatever you need to tap into your strongest, most confident self. There’s a future version of you that this fear is already in your comfort zone, connect with that version.

One trick I use: I mentally place myself after the event, celebrating how well it went. It helps me stay calm, confident, and fully present.

Remember: you wouldn’t have this opportunity if you weren’t ready for it.

You’ve got this and I’m rooting for you.
